Facilitator’s Profile:
Dr. Shahida Mohiuddin is an Educational Psychologist. She has done Ph.D in Education from Hamdard University, Karachi and M. Phil in Education from Karachi University. Her PhD thesis entitles“An Evaluation of Early Childhood Education in Pakistan” and “Early Childhood Education in the Light of the Quran” is her M. Phil thesis title. Her areas of interest are School Leadership, School Psychology and Curriculum Development, with strong backgrounds in Psychology, Education and Early Childhood Development. She has presented research papers in various national and international conferences, some of which have been published in national and international journals. She also works as a freelance journalist.

She conducts teacher education workshops for various schools and educational institutions. She runs her program titled ‘Fun and Learn Program for Toddlers’ which has been recognized as a model of best practices for Early Childhood Development in Asia Pacific by Asia Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC). She has also worked as a faculty at Foundation University-Islamabad where she taught Educational Psychology and Educational Research to Masters and M. Phil students. Currently, she is a visiting faculty at Bahria University- Institute of Professional Psychology where she teaches Educational Psychology to BS students.

About the workshop:       The workshop discusses strategies for behaviour modification and tools, like charts, IBPs, for teachers to use in their classrooms. This workshop will provide the teachers with enriched knowledge and skills to address the behaviour needs of children.

ASSET Collaborative Event (Colours of Pakistan) with CAP on November 17, 2012

Dear Members

It gives us a great pleasure to inform you that on November 17, 2012, ASSET is organizing a special event for school children and teachers in collaboration with The Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP). The theme of the event is “Colours of Pakistan”.
Pakistan is a country that has been blessed with variety in every aspect. It is culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse country with variation in its geography. With a wide canvas of such diversity, it is imperative for the people of Pakistan to appreciate its splendor.
“Colours of Pakistan” is an interactive 4-hour session that will celebrate that diversity. Moreover, our youth will explore how to bridge distances between communities.
As students and teachers engage in group activities, they will be educated about Pakistan's rich culture and heritage. They will also go through a series of conflict resolution activities that will equip them to conduct themselves as responsible citizens of the world. This event has been particularly designed to bring about a stimulating experience for all the participants.
About The Citizens Archive Pakistan:
The Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the cultural and historical preservation of the country.  It seeks to educate the community, by fostering awareness of our nation's history and instilling pride in Pakistani citizens of their heritage. The CAP has focused its attention on the tradition of oral story-telling in Pakistan, emphasizing the need of such narratives on national identity in dialogue form. The organization has three main goals: to preserve and provide access to the archive, to build and support educational programs, and to develop educational products based on the testimonies accumulated.

Who should/can participate?
  • Three students from Grade VI - VIII from each institution.
  • Students will be accompanied by one teacher from the institution
  • Individual member of ASSET
