Objectives of the workshop:

·         Recognize and generate equivalent forms of commonly used fractions, decimals, and percentages.
·         Appreciate the role of fraction and percentage in daily life.
·         Discuss and identify the common misconceptions arise while teaching fractions and percentages.

Facilitator’s Profile:

Tabinda Kanwal is an O- level teacher at BeconHouse School. She has done her MS in Applied Mathematics from NED University. She has also published two research papers in an International Journal. She is a member of MAP Executive Committee.

Aasma Mamsa is working as an Academic Coordinator in a reputed school system. She is a MEd graduate from the Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development. (AKU-IED). She is a member of MAP Executive Committee.

April 23rd is celebrated by the United Nations Educational Scientific and cultural Organization as a ‘World Book Day’. All over the world on this day special events are organized for promoting reading habits and publishing. In order to celebrate World Book Day this month ASSET is organizing a session on reading habit.

Session Objectives:
By the end of the session participants will be able to:
•           Understand the importance/Significance of Reading Habit
•           Explore factors Influencing Reading Habits
•           Design strategies for the promotion of Reading Habit
•           Plan and share ‘World Book Day’ activities

Facilitator’s Profile:
Muhammad Tahir Butt did his Masters in Library and Information Science from Karachi University. He attended several workshops on information technology and library as a source of knowledge. Mr. Tahir actively participated in the academic activities of Library and Information Science department and helped in organizing the programs for the promotion of reading, writing and organizing resource material. He served as a librarian in different libraries and currently working as a librarian in Pakistan Study Center, University of Karachi.

Facilitator’s Profile
Tehmina Maknojia is a Pakistani artist .She has completed her Bachelors in fine arts from Indus valley school of art and architecture. She demonstrates a history of excellent craftsmanship, aiming to make work that is interactive for everyone and not limited to gallery space.

She applies her skills to design and facilitate short and long-term arts workshops for teachers. Currently, she is working as art educator and freelance artist. She has participated in various exhibition, community based art projects and campus as lead facilitator.

He is associated with AKU from last 7 years.
