Invitation to Principals / Headteacher Orientation of AKU-IED MEd Programme

An orientation session for heads of schools/educational institutions/teacher education institutions in Karachi is being organized on Tuesday, February 04, 2014 at 2:00 pm at AKU-IED, Karimabad.  This session will enable us to share with you key features of MEd programme, its admission process, and other details about the programme.

Admissions 2014
Master of Education (MEd)

The Aga Khan University’s Institute for Educational Development offers two years Full time and four years Part time Master of Education (MEd) Programme.

MEd programme focuses on developing the participants as critical thinkers, reflective practitioners, and agents of change, equipped with enhanced knowledge in the areas of Science, Mathematics, Social Studies and English Language. Prospective candidates should be serving teachers, teacher-educators or educational managers.

Eligibility Criteria:

1.    A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks from a recognized Institution/University.

2.    To specialise in Teacher Education, a minimum of two years’ teaching experience is required. To specialise in Educational Leadership and Management, two years of teaching experience in an educational institution with minimum one year of management experience as principal, vice-principal, head teacher, head/deputy head of school, head of department, or coordinator is required.

The Application Package can be obtained from Office of the Registrar, AKU-IED or can be downloaded from www.aku.edu. Last date for submission of application is 4:00 PM February 14, 2014.

SAP Session title "Cartoons – A Vehicle to Explore Science Concepts" on February 8, 2014

She has facilitated and conducted various educational courses especially on Pedagogies which include, Teaching Methods, Classroom Management, Lesson Planning, Storytelling, Mathematical Development, Integrated Learning, Child Psychology and Assessment.

ASSET- Self Awareness (Part II) on January 25, 2014

It is a pleasure to inform you that this month ASSET is organizing a session on Self Awareness (Part II).  This will be a continuation of the session held on December 14, 2013. The participants who attended part I are encouraged to attend it.

Session objective:

At the end of the session participants will be able to:
·         discuss about self-awareness as a human and as a teacher
·         practice different activity sheets to know self
·         identify themselves as self-directed learners according to KOLB Model
·         prepare a self-learning plan on areas of improvement
