ASSET Session- “The DNA of Pakistan Studies” on Tuesday, July 26, 2011

It is a pleasure to inform you that we are arranging a special session on history of Pakistan under title of “The DNA of Pakistan Studies”. The details of the session are as follows:

The workshop is based on the “DNA” approach: it presents a few basic facts about the history of Pakistan which will give you an easy and practical approach for understanding the past, present and future of the nation and the land.

- Problems and their solutions

About the Facilitator

Mr. Khurram Ali Shafique is the author of Iqbal: an Illustrated Biography, which has been nominated for Presidential Iqbal Award. His publications include The Republic of Rumi: a Novel of Reality (2007) and Iqbal, a six-volume biography in Urdu. His numerous articles have been published in national press. Brief Intro of the Facilitator:
Reshma Perveen has gained M.Ed as well as B.Ed degrees from the Notre Dame Institute of Education Karachi. She has been bestowed upon several awards on her outstanding achievements. She has also worked as a Teacher Educator and a Master Trainer at Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan (AKESP) for a period of five year. As a facilitator, she conducted trainings to develop master trainers for EDLINKS, Islamabad and BBYDP in Karachi. Her areas of expertise include Teaching Pedagogy and School Management. Presently, she is working for AKESP as a Vice-Principal at Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Karachi.

AKUIED-CEL- One year Advanced Diploma Programme in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (ADP in TEFL)

The Centre of English Language at the Aga Khan University’s Institute for Educational Development is pleased to offer the One year Advanced Diploma Programme in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (ADP in TEFL) from October 2011 to July 2012

The ADP in TEFL has been especially designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical and practical foundations of language teaching. It focuses on equipping professionals with skills to contextually apply theory to practice in classrooms.

To be eligible for the course:


Eligibility Criteria: Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and two years of teaching experience will be considered for the programme, but preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree and some teaching experience.
