held on Saturday, February 20, 2016. Details of the
session are as follows:
Title: “Developing
Inclusive education in Pakistan: collaboration between Teachers and
Occupational Therapists”
Workshop Objectives:
By
the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
Ø Understand the role of
Occupational Therapists in the school system.
Ø To contribute to enhance
learning in an inclusive classroom context
Ø Learn and demonstrate
alternative strategies as a result of teacher/OT collaboration

Facilitators: Mr Denise M. Hashim, Ms Naureen Javed, Ms
Nighat Tahir and
Ms Sunaina Liaquat
About
the Facilitator:
Ms. Denise M. Hashim is an Occupational
Therapist, with a Master’s degree from Western Michigan University, U.S.A. She
is Head of the Learning Disorders Services at Dow University where she has set
up a Sensory Integration Clinic for children.
Ms. Naureen Javed is a Senior Teacher
and Special Educational Needs Coordinator at the AMI School, in Karachi.
Ms. Nighat Tahir is an Occupational
Therapist and Senior Lecturer and Clinician at Dow University of Health
Sciences. She has a BS OT degree from DUHS and a Master’s degree in Health and
Physical Education from Karachi University.
Ms. Sunaina Liaquat is Senior
Occupational Therapist in the Learning Disorders Services at DUHS and has a BS
OT degree from Dow University of Health Sciences.
