Dear Colleague,
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) celebrates 10th November every year as the World Science Day for Peace and Development (WSDPD) to reaffirm - in the words of the UN Charter - the crucial contribution of science to the promotion of “social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom”. The Day is an occasion to remind the UNESCO's mandate and commitment on science.
In this regard, on Saturday November 10, 2007, SAP is organizing a poster competition at 8:30 am for the students of grade X to be held at the Aga Khan University - Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED), Karachi.
We cordially invite your respected institution to send a team of
two students to participate in the event. The team could be accompanied by a science teacher or any other representative from the institution.
In the poster competition, the students will be provided with a reading material in relation with the ‘Role of Science in Peace and Development’ which they first have to read and comprehend and then develop a poster portraying their understanding, ideas and thoughts in relation with the topic. The winners would be awarded with the certificates of ranks.
(Note: Students are required to bring pencils, eraser, sharpener, ruler, markers, colour pencils, crayon, and oil pastels. Charts papers would be provided).
Please fill the attached registration form and send it along with Fee Rs. 300/- (Cash or Pay – Order) in the name of AKU-IED to Mr. Farhan Jiwani or Mr. Aniq Amin at PTAN Office by November 1, 2007.
