PAIE session titled "Children with Sensory Integration Issues" on September 27, 2014
Dear Members,
On behalf of PAIE Executive Committee, we would like to
invite you for the PAIE workshop to be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Details of the session are as follows:
Title: “Children
with Sensory Integration Issues”
Seminar Objective:
Children with sensory processing disorder have
difficulty processing information from the senses (touch, movement, smell,
taste, vision, and hearing) and responding appropriately to that information.
These children typically have one or more senses that either over- or
underreact to stimulation. Sensory processing disorder can cause problems with
a child's development and behavior. Occupational therapists, parents, special
and mainstream educators will find this workshop useful for their practice.
This workshop will allow them to work as a team with occupational therapist to
make intervention plan for children with sensory processing issues for stimulation
and environmental interventions. Through this workshop participants will be
able to
Ø
Identify
social/emotional and behavioral issues in the light of sensory processing
disorder
Ø
Address these issues
within classroom and home environment
