PAIE workshop on "Occupational Therapy with Reference to Cerebral Palsy (C.P)" on Saturday,October 26, 2013

PAIE is organizing a general awareness raising workshop on Occupational Therapy. The aim of this workshop is to introduce concepts and importance of Occupational Therapy, specially for Cerebral Palsy, as to promote health by enabling people to perform meaningful and purposeful activities.

Who Should Attend?

Mainstream and special educators, parents, and people particularly those working with Special or C.P children can also gain good knowledge.

Dear Member,
World Teachers' Day held annually on October 5 since 1994. It symbolizes the importance of a teacher in moulding the future of an individual as well as the lives of the nations. This year the slogan of World Teachers’ Day is “A Call for Teachers”


 Keeping the similar theme in mind, ASSET has arranged an interactive workshop titled “Becoming a Smarter Teacher

Understanding Cooperative Learning group activities for the development of Education Systems

Cooperative learning is an approach to organize classroom activities into academic and social learning experiences. Although we have an understanding of the group work yet our educational institutions are unable to infuse Cooperative Learning Strategies into our classrooms. Therefore, SHADE is conducting a session on “Understanding Cooperative Learning Group Activities for the development of Education Systems”. This session will help participants to;
·         Explore the difference between traditional and cooperative learning groups
·         Understand the strategies to develop cooperative learning groups
·         Identify the basic elements of cooperative learning

Facilitator’s Profile:
Mr. Nadeem ur Rehman Khan is an emerging personality in education. His professional qualifications include an MBA (Educational Management) from the Institute of Business Education, Bachelors of Education from Notre Dame Institute of Education (NDIE) and Bachelors of Commerce from the Institute of Business Education. He has acquired professional teaching and training certifications from the Australian Catholic University, Australia and the Teachers Development Centre (TDC). Formerly, he taught Business Studies Curriculum at Beaconhouse School Systems and also conducted workshops on Multiple Intelligences, Usage of Multimedia in Education, Resume Writing and Interviews for Educators in collaboration with TDC and NDIE. He has also worked with the British Council to market launching of their Teaching English website campaign. He has written number of articles in the daily DAWN and Express Tribune. Currently, he is associated with Aga Khan Higher Secondary School (AKHSS) as their Academic Coordinator.

On behalf of SAP Executive Committee, we would like to invite you for the academic session to be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013. Details of the session are as follows:
 
Topic:             Designing, Writing, Reviewing Textbook and Teaching Learning Materials.
 
Objectives:        At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
 
·         Design, write and review varied texts, activities and assessment tasks.
·         Develop, pilot and modify the texts, activities and assessments to make textbook and teaching learning materials more practical, updated and contextually relevant.
·         Critically review the alignment of the textbook with the curriculum document 2006 and textbook review criteria and suggest changes to improve the curriculum and textbooks of primary science classes.
·         Discuss and make suggestions to integrate scientific attitudes, values, issues and skills of relevance to context and levels.
