Postponement of today's (Saturday, August 13, 2011) ASSET Session on "Self transformation for becoming a good role model"

Below mentioned session has been postponed due to today’s province wide strike call.

The session will now be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011.

It is a pleasure to inform you that ASSET is organizing a session on “Self Transformation for Becoming a Good Role Model in the month of August 2011. The details are as follows:

Objective:

At the end of the session participants would be able to:

1. Reiterate the qualities of a role model for professionalism
2. Use one of the models to bring self-transformation
3. Verbalize why they would like to use a particular model
4. Develop a timeline for bringing in change.

Brief intro of Dr Sheilla Pinjani

Dr Pinjani is working as a Lecturer, Department for Educational Development at the Aga Khan University. She has involved in designing courses and training programs for the professional development of teachers and educators. She gives importance and also promotes inner values and value based teaching in education. She has also written discussion papers, reports and articles.

Dr. Pinjani is currently working on her PhD project of ‘Role Models Virtues and Values’. She has Master's in Medical Education from University of Dundee, UK, MPhil in Physiology from Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Centre and MBBS from Sindh, University.

AKUIED-CEL, Advanced Diploma Programme in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (ADP in TEFL)

The Centre of English Language at the Aga Khan University’s Institute for Educational Development is pleased to offer the One year Advanced Diploma Programme in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (ADP in TEFL) from October 2011 to July 2012

The ADP in TEFL has been especially designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical and practical foundations of language teaching. It focuses on equipping professionals with skills to contextually apply theory to practice in classrooms.

To be eligible for the course:

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and two years of teaching experience will be considered for the programme, but preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree and some teaching experience.
