This month ASSET
is organizing an interactive session on “Teach
for Peace”. The details are as follows:
The aim of this workshop is to:
· Make
a conscious effort in raising awareness about core issues and basics of peace
education.
· Equip
teachers with the skills to teach for peace and promote non-violent social
interactions
and tolerance among their students.

Facilitator’s Profile
Ms. Shabnam Sohail is MA
(Economics) from University of Karachi and Masters in Education (MEd) with
Distinction in Dissertation from Aga Khan University
Ms Shabnam is presently
working as a Senior Lecturer in St. Joseph’s College for Women; her main areas
of interest are social studies teaching, teacher education and curriculum
development. She is working for British Council project for Sindh (SESSP) as a
member of a team of Curriculum Developers. She is also a member of a team of
textbook writers for the Sindh Textbook Board, Jamshoro and earlier worked as a
member of a team of textbook writers for the Sindh Textbook Board.
She has worked for
EDC-Pre STEP (Pre-Service Teacher Education Program) as a consultant to develop
a course ‘Teaching Social Studies’ for B. Ed students and also conducted
several Professional Development Sessions for teachers. Besides, she has worked
as a member of the Peace Education & Interactive Learning Modules Writing
Team with GTZ Education Projects Office Islamabad
