In the month of July ASSET
is organizing a session on the use of movies and documentaries in classroom
teaching and it will be based on documentary Islam: Empire of Faith and its educational website. The details are
as follows:
Objective:
By the end of the session
the participants will be able to:
Ø Enhance their understanding about Islam as a religion
and life of Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H).
Ø Highlight significant aspects of Islamic civilization
Ø Effectively use the educational website of the
documentary in their classroom teaching
Ø Develop lesson plans and worksheets of different
educational movies and documentaries

Brief Introduction of Islam: Empire of Faith:
The three hour documentary
tells the spectacular story of the great sweep of Islamic power and faith
during its first 1,000 years, from the birth of the Prophet Muhammad to the
peak of the Ottoman Empire under the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent.
Historical re-enactments and a remarkable exposition of Islamic Art, artefacts
and architecture are combined with interviews of scholars from around the world
to recount the rise and importance of early Islamic civilization.
