What are we leaving behind? Time to stop
and reflect
This interactive session of ASSET is meant to critically
reflect on the meaning of education for the individuals and the society. Using
videos and reflective group exercises, the session will engage participants in
meaningful discussion to aware and reflect on problems of the present education
system such as, identity crises, loss of cultural values and ways of life. It
will also engage participants’ teachers to collectively find some strategies to
implement in their classrooms in order to contribute positively, resolving the
above said issues.

Facilitator’s Profile:
Ms. Husna Arif holds
Masters Degrees from The UCL Institute of Education, University College
London, UK in Teaching and Muslim Societies & Civilization.
She has worked with teachers and school leader for the last 12 years in
capacities that include front line work as teachers and teacher educator and
community development. She also facilitates training, educational
workshops and community processes. Her major interests are in areas of teacher
development, Gender and Education and issues of equality and equity in
education.
