SHADE workshop titled "The Application of Multiple Intelligences for Education Systems" on April 20, 2013
School
Head Teachers Association for Development of Education
The
Application of Multiple Intelligences for Education Systems
Howard Gardner coined
the term Multiple Intelligences (MI) in 1983 in which he presented seven
different ways to demonstrate intellectual ability in learners. Recently, his
research has enlightened educators with nine different Multiple Intelligences.
As school leaders, it is essential for us to
understand the unique learning patterns of our students, and MI helps us to
understand students’ strengths. Although we have an understanding of the
Multiple Intelligences Framework yet our educational institutions are unable to
infuse this into our lesson planning. Therefore, this month’s SHADE session
will be on the “Application of Multiple Intelligences for Education Systems”.
The session will help participants to;
·
Explore Multiple Intelligences within
each individual,
·
Stimulate educators to discover more
methods of teaching and learning,· Prepare Learning Objectives in accordance to the Multiple Intelligences framework.
