HEALTH Workshop titled “CREATING HEALTH PROMOTING SCHOOLS” on Saturday, January 26, 2013

On behalf of HEALTH Executive Committee, we would like to invite you for the HEALTH workshop to be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013. The details of the session are as follows:

Topic:  CREATING HEALTH PROMOTING SCHOOLS 

  Fostering integrated and coordinated programs in which children themselves play a full and active part.

ABSTRACT: Health education is one of the important components of the health promotion. There can be no promotion without health education. Health education provides factual knowledge about diseases and knowledge about its prevention. Schools offer a convenient way of reaching a large number of children and young people; therefore health education in schools is very good strategy for improving health. In addition schools are within communities and children can spread health information that they learn in their schools to their own communities through the Child-to-Child Approach.
 
Objectives:

By the end of this topic participants will know:
 
·         Importance of Health education and promotion
·         Planning health Action programs
·         Lesson Planning and teaching a health topic
·         The Child-to-Child Approach
