APT - ‘Through Writing to Reading’ on May 19, 2012
Dear Member,
This month Amina Baig and Shaheena Daewani will be conducting a session called, ‘Through Writing to Reading’.
Abstract
In primary classes, most of teachers’ efforts are devoted to developing reading skills of students. They apply various methods and strategies to facilitate reading development of their students. In order to facilitate children in this process, it is important for teachers to know and be aware of different methods and approaches for reading development. In the same connection, this workshop is designed to orient teachers about ‘language experience approach’ to reading development. Through this workshop, they will get hands on experience of how this approach develops reading skills and also explore some possibilities to implement this approach in their classrooms. The activities and discussion in the workshop will provide opportunity to teachers to understand and learn about a different approach for reading development.
