PAIE session titled "Developing Inclusive education in Pakistan: collaboration between Teachers and Occupational Therapists" on Saturday, February 20, 2016

Dear Member,

On behalf of PAIE Executive Committee, we would like to invite you for the PAIE workshop to be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016. Details of the session are as follows:

Title: “Developing Inclusive education in Pakistan: collaboration between Teachers and Occupational Therapists”

Workshop Objectives:
By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
  Ø  Understand the role of Occupational Therapists in the school system.
  Ø  To contribute to enhance learning in an inclusive classroom context
  Ø  Learn and demonstrate alternative strategies as a result of teacher/OT collaboration

Details of workshop are as follows:-

Target audience:    Practitioners, Parents and Special Education Teachers
Facilitators:      Mr Denise M. Hashim, Ms Naureen Javed, Ms Nighat Tahir and Ms Sunaina Liaquat

About the Facilitator:
Ms. Denise M. Hashim is an Occupational Therapist, with a Master’s degree from Western Michigan University, U.S.A. She is Head of the Learning Disorders Services at Dow University where she has set up a Sensory Integration Clinic for children.

Ms. Naureen Javed is a Senior Teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator at the AMI School, in Karachi.

Ms. Nighat Tahir is an Occupational Therapist and Senior Lecturer and Clinician at Dow University of Health Sciences. She has a BS OT degree from DUHS and a Master’s degree in Health and Physical Education from Karachi University.

Ms. Sunaina Liaquat is Senior Occupational Therapist in the Learning Disorders Services at DUHS and has a BS OT degree from Dow University of Health Sciences.
                                                       
In view of limited seats available, prior registration for this workshop is mandatory. Kindly confirm your participation latest by Friday, February 19, 2016 (by 12:00 noon) at registration@ptan.org or (36826991-94/36347611-14 Ext. 8554/8556), as this will facilitate us in organizing the workshop effectively.

PTAN announced Institutional Membership for 2016

Subject: Registration for the year 2016


Dear Member,

This is to inform you that the membership of the Professional Teacher Association Network (PTAN) is open for renewal as well as for new membership for the year 2016

To facilitate the registration procedure, PTAN membership form has been attached with this letter. Interested institutions are requested to submit their form duly filled along with the visiting card of the concerned school principal and an annual fee of Rs. 6000/- (in cash or by pay order in favor of “The Aga Khan University”) to PTAN office between 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday latest by Friday, March 11, 2016. Expiration of yearly membership is December 31, 2016.

Each institution can nominate two (2) teachers for each workshop. The institution will be required to confirm the names of the participating teachers prior to the workshop date via email at registration@ptan.org or by calling 36347611-4/36826991-4, Ext. 8554/8556. The nominated teachers are required to submit their nomination letter issued by the school at the registration desk.  

Member institutions will receive an email of the upcoming workshop well in advance. In case these emails somehow do not received on time, the members can obtain an update of the upcoming sessions from our website www.ptan.org or contact phone PTAN office via numbers 36347611-4/36826991-4, Ext: 8554/8556. It is informed that no participant shall be allowed to attend a regular workshop without presenting the letter issued by the school.

NOTE: From March 2016 onwards PTAN office will not send letters to its members via courier services, Therefore members are requested to be in touch via E-mail, Website or Telephone.

PTAN announced Individual membership for 2016


Subject: Registration for the year 2016

Dear Member,

This is to inform you that your membership of the association has expired on December 31st, 2015 you are requested to renew your membership latest by Friday, March 11, 2016.   

To facilitate the renewal process, a registration form is attached for your convenience. You are requested to submit this form duly filled and signed along with a copy of your CNIC and one 1”x 1” size photograph/s as well as an annual renewal fee of Rs. 450/- per association membership to PTAN office between 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday. The renewed membership will remain valid from March 1 to December 31, 2016.

Once you are registered you will receive email of the upcoming sessions. In case you don’t get an email on time; you can get an update of the upcoming sessions from our website www.ptan.org or contact us on phone numbers 36347611-4 / 36826991-4, Ext. 8554/8556. Please feel free to approach PTAN in case of any enquiry.
